Kewpies was local burger joint, before the onslaught of BK and McDs. I liked that place.
Hamelines, another local, was a mix between Ice cream parlor and luncheonette. It had these really low swivel stools and counter.
Tony's pizza. This was a small pizza parlor, no seating ,take out only. Slices were 25 cents. I ate that for lunch everyday in 7th and 8th grade. Tony's still exists but it's not quite the same.
Dellers Restaurant served awesome polish and German dishes. Burnt to the ground while the cash register was out being cleaned. I think it was one of those rare insurance lightning storms. ;D
Woolworth's luncheonette. Woolworth's had these long lunch counters right inside the dept store. Dad hating taking us kids to Woolworths. We always wanted to eat there.
Most of my favorite eateries still exist today. We're lucky that area family owned restaurants stay around forever.
