Does anyone have recipes for treats made from beef heart/liver? I'm thinking of something pocket-able, as Henry and I will be starting training classes again soon!

Could I bake heart/liver until it's done, and then slice it up?

I think Susan makes her own liver treats. I am curious about the recipes as well.

 

I boil thinly sliced liver for about 10-15 min and then bake at (very low temp) around 250 degrees for a long time,until it looks done! Then cut in small cubes and fridgerate or freeze in baggies. my boys luv it and its much cheaper than the store bought real liver treats that i sometimes buy for 14 bucks a bag. i can make twice the amount for half the money...

If not for less. Great idea. I will try it. Liver is really cheap (I buy mine at hormone/antibiotic/cage free chicken farm).

last weekend i bought a beef heart...i boil it up, let it cool and then cut into strips or cubes and bag them up in freezer bags and use as needed.

 

I, too, make my own beef liver treats, same method as loriwolflabluv and chocolata. Easy and so inexpensive!
