My 9 year old daughter, Liv, has requested that I make calamari. I am wondering what to make for a dipping sauce. The recipe I plan to use is just for a basic tomato basil marinara. Anyone have any great dipping sauce suggestions? I have probably only made calamari at home a handful of times, so I don't have a huge repitoire of serving ideas.

Thanks!

I've eaten it with ranch dressing, too. A lot of people like a spicy horseradish sauce but I'm not a fan.

I was at a restaurant on Nantucket last summer and they served calamari fried in a light batter and tossed in a honey/crushed red pepper sauce.

It was so good that we went back to the same spot the next night for pre-dinner drinks and another order of calamari. Divine! I don't have a recipe but I'll bet you can come up with something similar.

Otherwise, I like calamari with a light tomato sauce.
