Ugh... This has got to be one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen. When he poops, the little critters are everywhere. We just got 10 wk old Harley the other night from a woman, and his first vet visit is tomorrow, so that it going to definitely be tops on the agenda. I almost vomited when I saw them.

Is there any way to be certain of avoiding this again and how much contact should I allow my 7 yo twins while he has them?

OMG! Make sure you bring a stool sample to the vet with you!! They'll give you something to clear that up.

Do they look like spaghetti or rice? Spaghetti are round worms and most definitely able to be passed to humans. Any contact by any human and they should thoroughly wash their hands with soap afterwards.

It is not uncommon for puppies to have roundworms.

Most folks who have been breeding for long will go ahead and worm their pups every 2 wks starting at 2-3 wks. I also take a fecal sample to the vet when we do our well check at ~7.5 wks.

I didn't buy him. He came from a woman who got him for free at a roadside stand. She said she broke up with her boyfriend and couldn't afford him and her two other dogs, so she put him on Craigslist and the rest is history...

I agree to take a sample to the vet so they can see what type of worms it is and treat accordingly.
