Credit card with the highest interest rate has a balance of ZERO!

/happy dance

WOOT!

Feels so good.

Still have a ways to go... but it feels so good to be on the right path.

This particular card has been a pain in the butt... they charge extra for processing a payment electronically so I have to wait forever for my bank to mail them a paper check and see it show up credited to my account like a week after it was processed! Oh well... all done... NA NA NA NA... NA NA NA NA... HEY HEY HEY... GOOOD BYYYEEEEE!!!

awesome work! Now you're going to put it in the middle of an empty container fill with water and put it in the freezer ... right? (well that is what I did when I was getting rid of cc debt a few years ago!)

I just cut it up :D

And scheduled myself a reminder to cancel it completely the month before it will charge me an annual fee. (I know it's "bad" to cancel cards but I'm not keeping one that charges me an annual fee... it's the only one that does so and by the time I cancel it, I will have paid down a couple other cards that I'll keep open for the "credit")

BTW, it s not bad to cancel cards. it's good! When you (if you) apply for a loan, or mortgage, any available credit to you is counted as debt, so it is recommended to cancel any cards you do not use. Preferable to have a line of credit and one card than a bunch of cards.

Congrats!

You're right to cancel an annual-fee card (just know that it's possible your credit score could've taken a slight hit.) Keep open the ones that don't charge one. Also make sure you keep open your oldest card - it's what establishes the length of your credit history.
