I'm going to my first hockey game tonight and I'm wondering what I should wear. Do they make the ice arena somewhat comfortable or is it fricken cold in there? I dont know if I should bundle up like crazy or not.

Long sleeves... maybe a jacket just in case, but not bundled up like crazy.

I used to play in the pep band at my HS hockey games... was fun

Just wait until they come out onto the ice with shovels and scrap the blood off the ice......you're gonna love it!!!! LOL

They call themselves Pro. LOL. Its not NHL. Our city just built a huge new hockey arena.

Usually a sweater or sweatshirt will do if your down by the ice. Hopefully you are close, it's fun to look for teeth on the ice after a good fight.

Sweatshirt or sweater will be fine then. Most high end hockey rinks have the radiant heat that direct heat towards the fans and not the ice.

Pretty fun game to watch in person, always hated to watch it on tv.

(don't listen to these men Laurie by the end of the night you will be COLD trust me. SU always says "you'll be fine in a sweatshirt" and I end up freezing)

Cold. Usually wear turtleneck sweater under a sweatshirt....under my Rangers jersey! You won't need gloves...but you might need cocoa!

Been to one? Been, played, and coached.
It depends on the arena how cold it is. Local community arenas are usually pretty chilly. Sounds like the one you are going to is more of a pro arena. It shouldn't be really cold.

I'm glad the fans enjoy the blood scrapping because I'm the poor arena person out there with the ice scrapper and a shovel and I'm not particularrily fond of it.

I go to collegiate and HS Hockey games every week. Dress in layers and enjoy.

This week end the Greater Utica area hosts the New York State Frozen Four. This is the championship weekend where teams from both divisions play for the championship. It will be 6 games in two days. I will not miss any of the games. Oh, and during all this is our St Pats day celebrations complete with pub crawl just mere blocks from the arena.
