I'm just wondering how many of us had the pleasure of meeting her in "real life"? Or talked to her on the phone? I never did, but I have a picture of her in my mind. She reminds me of an actress - whose name I don't know, but I can see her face. Such a soulful face, full of knowledge and wisdom, with warm, expressive eyes.

She was very private in many ways. I don't think anyone ever got to meet her. I talked to her on the phone several times. We mostly exchanged messages, as she did with most of us that she touched. The last time I talked to her on the phone was about a month ago. She had such a sweet voice. I can't even describe how sweet her voice was.

Jinx/Kelli talked to her on the phone quite a bit.

I talked to Vic on the phone a fair amount. She was a sassy sensitive woman that I will never forget.

I only got to hear her voice once and yes, it was very sweet. We exchanged emails a lot; she helped me through some rough patches when she could.
Shanna, you have a very sweet voice, too! And so does Lisa! You both sound soooooooooooo young, as did Vicki.

Spoke to her several times a year for the past 4-1/2 years, at least 30 mins to an hour (the joys of having unlimited calling ). Last talked to her a week before Christmas. She always has a way to make you laugh.

I wish I could have heard her voice

I know what I imagine it sounds like in my head. I have only talked with Ma over many, emails & messages, and of course on the boards. She helped me through some very difficult times this year. She had that way of seeing what was going on, and comforting you. It's no wonder we called her "Ma", it felt so natural.

We had discussed it as we are both in AZ but I never made the time to drive the 3 hours down south. Now I regret it. I figured I was buying a new vehicle soon and that would be one of my day road trips to go down and take her out for lunch.

Really? No one here has ever met her? I'm really surprised to hear that, since she was close to so many. But, phone calls and messages are just as meaningful, if not more.

I was supposed to meet her once on a trip to NJ, but she called and canceled. I have spoken to her several times over the years. I will miss that.

She told me recently about her "hillbilly" relatives in Missouri she would visit for the summer (as a young girl) and that her "cousins called her "Barbie." Blonde and tan."
