My puppy J R is 10 months old and I am wondering if he is old enough for adult food. My vet says yes, but the breeder tells me she usually waits until about a year but she knows others that switch them as early as 5 months. I know puppies should not have a really high protein diet (some of the all meat/no grain foods) because of bones developing too fast. I have fed J R Eagle Pack Large puppy food and my other dog, a 4 year old weim eats the Eagle Pack adult. It would be a little more convenient to have them on the same food but I certainly want to do the very best for my boy. What do you think about this?

Most breeders I know recommend after one big bag of puppy food. I would think 10 months would be ok. But I'd do what your breeder asks.
