My Mookie is 5 months old and weighs 54lbs. Is there an approximate age when they stop growing? I am just trying to figure out how big he is going to be, or if he is overweight, but he doesn't look fat.

I think they reach their approximate size (height, etc.) by about 1 year, and then they "fill out" after that. depending on the dog, could be around two before their done.

Every dog does things a little differently though! ;D

It really depends on the dog. With my own dogs, they did the big bulk of their growing in the first 6 months and slowed down a lot from there. They filled out until they were around 2 years of age.

All lines are different. The best person to ask is your breeder as they would know at least about mom. Final height of both parents would give you some idea of his final size though grandparents can play a huge role as well.

My lines get the bulk of their height by 12 mos, but have grown another 1/2" or so as late as 2 yrs or more. -Anne
