I'm making a small pot roast with taters, carrots, parsnips, and onions.

I wonder if I could substitue chicken stock for veggie stock and leave out the chicken.....chicken, garlic, green onions, regular onions, shiitake mushrooms
(fishcake if desired)
sauce is: chicken stock, soy sauce, sugar, mirin
then top w/egg
and serve over white rice. yum!!!!

If you eat tofu, that would work...any other veges, for that matter (bamboo shoots work well)
it's the sauce that makes it taste so good.
