What is a zipper? Why does it look good?

Sorry! Trying to get familiar with terms.

A zipper is a line that runs up the center of the nose. I'm sure someone here has a good photo.

A zipper is a ridge in the face there the hair grow in the opposite direction. (hope this make sense)

Some labs has one, like Zeb man and Rhumba...

not a really good close up...but Hayley, the dog on the right has a "zipper" in the center of her nose.

I think that I might see a faint line actually on her nose, or are you pointing out the dark line in her actual fur that seems to go up between her eyes? I don't think Hershey Kisses has one, but I need to know in case she does have one. I'll have to make sure it stays closed and her stuffing doesn't come out.

A twizzle??? That's what I've heard it called

Thanks, I love Mocha's Zipper she's had it since she was a baby and it was part of the reason we picked her.

That's it! Boo has no zipper, but he has a twizzle that comes out in full force when it's humid. ;D

a zipper is a cowlick. They can either go up the nose or over the nose. The ones over the nose do give the dog a harsher expression, IMO. Some judges will not put up a dog that has a zipper over its nose. Some judges will not put up a dog with a zipper period.

Darby had a zipper and never produced one. Stevie did not have a zipper yet produced a couple of them.

So THAT'S why Lacey has that line between her eyes!!! I thought it was just some sort of a defect in her coat. I'd never heard of a zipper before!
