I think all our labs have wonderful, quirky personalities. And I'm sure they all have something a little strange that gets them revved up!
For Milly there are 2 things.

#1 If you place big boots (riding boots, hiking boots or ugg boots) on your hands and clap them together and chase her she goes crazy and gets VERY excited and the butt-tucking could go on for hours!!

#2 If you blow up a balloon!! It's so bizarre, she sees you blow it up and starts getting exciting and freaking out and barks like crazy until you stop!

So share your stories!! What gets your lab worked up that is out of the ordinary?

I just found this out the other day, but with Toby if you scratch his back above his tail really hard (he totally loves it!) he starts going in circles between and around your legs.. :D

With Abbey, if you say 'frisbee' or 'walkie-walk' she immediately starts dancing around and her tail goes about 90 mph. :D

Nothing funny like the boots thing, though, Sarah. That's hilarious! ;)

I am sure this will not be a suprise, Lexi is a lab after all, but she gets wildly excited:

- when I get the car keys out. She automatically thinks she is going with me wherever I might be headed.

- when I put on my sneakers & grab her leash, she knows its walkie time.

- when she sees one of my parents or my sisters cars pull in the driveway. I swear she knows which cars are mom-mom's, pop-pop's, Aunt Chrissy & Aunt Katie.

(1) If I go down to the end of the hall where her food and/or treats are stored.
(2) If I move toward a tennis ball, anywhere, anytime.
- If we head for the dog park, and I decide its a Chuck-it day, she will ignore any dog, person, rabbit, deer, pile of treats on the ground. Her focus is 100% on the ball in the Chuck-it. Ears perked up, bouncy steps, yipping and yapping! The folks that see this as we walk far enough inside for me to throw the ball, 'Hershey wants her ball, Dad!', 'Throw it already! She's going to pop out of her fur!', 'That girl really wants to chase down her ball, doesn't she?!'
(3) The grandkids come over with faces to be washed and food to be dropped from the table at meal time.

Bauer loves that too! When I come in the house, he walks over and stands between my legs waiting for me to sratch him. :D

2 other things:
1. I talk in this voice that gets him excited and butt tucking. It doesn't even matter what I say, he goes crazy! When he hears it, he knows it is playtime.
2. The Squeaky Squirrels - http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2750657 I don't leave it out all of the time because he gets so excited when he plays with it . . . flinging squirrels all over the house. All I have to say is, "Squeaky Squirrels," and the butt-tucking starts.

Nothing unique that I can think of. Just regular lab stuff....

the word "chuck-it"
seeing a bumper, DFT, wubba
a tennis ball
the sound of leashes being jangled
the sound of the garage door going up (either mom or dad's coming home)
the word "Pawtropolis" (their DDC)
the phrase "on the dock" or "dock diving"
the word "duck"
the word "cookie"
the phrase "any hungry puppies around here?" (That's what I say just before I feed them.)
pulling into the vet's

for Sally, the phrase "booty camp"
for Sally, a cat or even the word "cat"

Anything involving funny noises. My hubby likes to make the "Pop" sound with his finger in his cheek and it makes Remy go crazy! So much so that now hubby just has to point at his cheek and Remy will charge him.

Its really muddy here so, luckily once I'm done cleaning all 4 paws, Remy seems to know when we're done and then play with the towel ensues!

Bowl. Either his green plastic food bowl or his sister's metal one...he loves nothing more than to prance around with it in his mouth around the house...but if he can sneak past me and get it outside? Butt tucking!!!

Maggie spins in circles or slams her front paws down puts her butt in the air when we say the words, You wanna.... or
look at the direction we keep the tennis ball, chuck it, food, treats
look at the front door
walk towards the front door
when daddy puts on his jacket

I'm sure there are many, many others, but these are #1 for her to go nutso!

She too ignores all other dogs whenever we play ball. I just don't know what it is with labs and tennis balls. My dad tried so hard to give her a treat the other day to "show off" in front of a friend on how much she liked his special treats, but she would have nothing to do with them because she had a tennis ball. I felt so bad for him. I told him I had to take the ball away before she would show any interest. Silly lab!

Are Hershey and Mocha related? (I think so, because my food motivated/driven Lab with also forego treats for a tennis ball.

Probably Puff's most favorite thing is going for a ride in the car ---- so, the tinkling sound of car keys inside the house gets her excited, dancing around, ready to bolt for the door and then, outside, as we approach the car, she performs her special whirling around, jumping, dance steps only stopping and looking very excited and expectantly as I reach to open the car door for her to hop in.

Puff also loves butt scritches (on her rump, just forward of where her tail grows out) and during it, rubs herself against me, climbs in and out of my lap, trying to lick my face and/or nuzzle our heads together, and/or interweaving herself between my legs.

And one more thing -- after a bath (usually just using the handheld showerhead to flush off dirt or stink) or a swim, she L-O-V-E-S being towel dried and the rubbing; she acts somewhat like she does with the butt scritches except her head is usually blindfolded by a beach towel and she does a lot of turning around and rubbing up against me.

Rush, just the mention of cake. She loves cake, she starts barking, jumping up and down, and pushes me toward the kitchen. Boo, if you jump at her she gets into butt-tuck mode and she's off. Both girls go absolutely nuts when the chuck-it and/or ball comes out. :) Also if you ask them if they want to go for a ride. Boo whines the entire car ride but can't wait to go, go figure.:D
