I just got back from getting Tucker his dog food.

He's on Wellness Core. It cost me $80 for the biggest bag. That seems like a really high price to pay for his food. So I'm thinking that I'll switch him once he is towards the end of this large bag.

We were feeding CORE until it went to just over $65 for a 30 lb. bag. We switched to Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream for ~$45 for a 30 lb. bag.

We feed Wellness too. I'm about to put Zeke on something else though. He eats sooo much more than my three. We've been feeding him, paying for his heartworm meds, and paying for his flea meds since October. BIL/SIL haven't even offered a penny towards his care so I'm at least changing his food to something a little less expensive. I'm thinking Nutro Max...that's what we fed before Wellness. Maybe I can get some ideas from this thread though.

That seems a bit high, even assuming you are paying $80 CD, right? I'm feeding a mix of Wellness Super5 Mix Healthy weight (for the 8% fiber, Teddy has a delicate stomach) and Kirkland Chicken small bites. I pay $53 for a 26 lb bag. The Kirkland is like $12 for the 20 lb bag.

Eagle Pack Holistic Select, the anchovy, sardine and salmon one. About $50 for the 30 lb. bag. Everything else gives them ear infections and they spend the whole day licking their paws. I'd love to find something cheaper but can't stand the thought of starting the food merry-go-round again.

Pssst, if my husband asks, it's Purina and it costs $8 for the 50 lb. bag.

I just put the boys on California Natural Herring & Sweet Potato. I think it was around $25 for a 15lb. The torturous lick-lick-lick-lick-lick-lick-lick-lick-lick has all but stopped (good news for them...and for me!)
