from the Potomac and I am so thrilled with Kona!! If he doesn't do anything else in his obedience carreer I still would be so proud of him, my Novice A dog!!

A quick summary of our two days of showing ............

Thursday we showed in Utility B and Open B, qualified in both and earned our first UDX leg, earned 6 OTCH points from our first place in Utility and earned high combined.

Here is the break down of our scores

Utility 180 1st

article 1 1 1/2
article 2 3 1/2 (picked up the right article and then put it down on top of
another article ........... ended up bringing me only the one article)
DR 5 (very forged pivot to glove #1)
signals 5 1/2
MS 1 1/2
DJ 3 1/2 (went to the left both times but all the way out and did sit
both times)

Open 186 1/2 3rd

BJ 2
HF/F8 2
DOR 1
RH 2 1/2
RF 6 (returned to heel vs front) Judge asked us if we did field work .........
when she told me to take it I just reached over his head like I do with
a bird or bumper.......... guess that made it obvious!!
OOS and OOD 0

On Friday we competed in the same classes and only qualified in utility.

Utility 188 1/2 2nd

Siganals 7 1/2
Article 1 1/2
Article 2 1
DR 1/2 (glove 3)
MS 0
DJ 2

Open NQ

RH 1
DOR NQ (had to give a verbal 2nd command)
F8/HF 1 1/2
RF 1
BJ 1/2
OOD 0
OOS 0

We earned one OTCH on Friday from our utility placement.

Kona has shown me that he is capable of workiing outside in both levels and that he is confident with utilty exercises. As long as he remains a happy dog in the ring we will continue in our UDX quest.

WOW! Walking away with 7 OTCh points, one of your first places taken care of and a UDX leg! Not bad!

I've been wondering how you did. Almost called last night but Lew and I went out to dinner and came home and watched a movie. Was thinking about you though!

Linda - What a fabulous weekend you had. Sounds like Kona had a wonderful time. How thrilling to have a UDX leg, OTCH points, a Utility 1st place and High Combined. I'll bet you were on cloud nine all the way home. Congratulations on a truly memorable two days of obedience. And thanks to Susan for sharing your good news with us. Betsy
