6 years after my LASIK procedure I still have no change. WOOO HOOO He said that is almost unheard of. He seemed a tad disappointed he couldn't sell me anything. He was pushing that the next think I will need is reading glasses. I think he just wants me to buy something else. LOL. I am just thrilled!

Congratulations. I'm considering it but I'm scared about screwing with my eyes and frankly I think I look better with glasses. But I'd really like to be able to see.

I've heard that there is a new procedure where they use LASIK to over-correct one eye for reading. Not sure how it works but it might be worth looking into when the time comes.

Yep, it's called mono vision. They do it for older people that need reading glasses. I was scared to death about screwing with eyes but it was worth it.

That's great! It's been 3 years for me and I've definitely noticed a bit of loss. But it's still the best money I've ever spent! I'm 43 and my vision is still far from the point of needing reading glasses.

I should add that my eyes were TERRIBLE before Lasik.

I had mine done in 2001, but I knew I would need reading glasses almost immedately. My vision was 20/450 and they weren't even sure they were going to do it, but they did. My distance is still very good, it's the mid-range and close that suck.

One word of caution. After LASIK, contacts will never fit right again because it changes the curve of your eye and flattens it out a bit. I tried the multi-vision contacts and mono-vision, and they won't work because there's an area where the contacts don't touch the eye.
