Hi All! We have had many labs through the years. Most have lived into their late teens. The last Choc Lab, Hershey, died of old age 5 years ago. We had than, and still have, Patches (1/2 Lab, 1/2 Aussie). Hershey lived to be 18 and Patches is now 17. We did not know where we would be in the coming years after they are gone and we may be retired. After Hershey died, the pain of missing him led us to find our new friend, Zeke, Choc Lab. It had been many years since we had a puppy around but we loved it. He traveled all over with us and was so good. He would have been 4 years old this week...he died Sept. 27, 2009 at only 3 1/2 years. He suffered from C. neoformans. It was horrible to see this gorgeous, healthy lab be effected by this infection that attacked his brain/central nervous system. We couldn't stand the gap in our lives and found a C. Lab at the rescue shelter. She came home with us on November 5, 2009. She has adjusted to our routines and we have handed over our hearts to her. Her name is Josie and she is about 3 years old.
