Hi, our Yellow Lab has 4 redish paws, constinently licks them (we try to teach him to not do it but when we are gone not much to do), and we cant figure the cause. But anyhow in the meantime does anyone have any opinions or data on which of these shampoos would be better for yeast/bacteria/itchyness. Or if there are other better products out there?

Thx

He is eating Acana Grasslands and has been on Pacifica and Prarie with the same issues. We have tried all the best foods with alternating protein sources and its the same. I dont think its food.

If the vet decides its fungal - malaseb shampoo is no longer available. I was lucky to get some from a friend. I have also used Nyzarol shampoo but not long enough to say if it works well. If you use a shampoo you must lather it up and leave it on for 10-15 min. before rinsing. You should watch your dog very closely because most shampoos like this have Ketaconozole in them (sometimes this is given orally) and if injested (licked off feet) it can cause liver issues (in humans) and is cautioned in dogs from my research.

Oil of Oregano capsules are antifungal and alfalfa is antifungal/antibacterial.

A skin scraping by the vet may help you get answers prior to doing allergy testing.
