He is home (but not happy)! The vet said that everything went better than expected. He was really woozy when we picked him up. We had to carry him to the car. I had set up the pen in the living room and he just kinda laid there and whined. The tech said to give him some water at 7pm and if that stayed down a small dinner. He was not interested in the water at all. I gave him a pain pill and he drifted off again. I traded the vet's cone for the inflatible one I bought for Buster's surgery and he looked a little happier. I got him up and out into the yard at 11pm and he had a little poop and then tried to rub his bottom on the grass. I tried again to get him to drink something but he turned away. So I put him in a crate in our bedroom and he whined some more but settled down. My youngest daughter got home from work around 1am and she gave him some attention and he started whining a lot after she left. I let it go for a little while, but at 2am I got down on the floor and opened the door to pet him and he headed for the kitchen and the door to the yard. I let him out and he peed for a long time, poor baby. The rest of the family was still up (weird people) so I left Boomer with them. At 3 my husband and Boomer came to bed and I got up and gave him a pain pill. He made himself comfortable in our bed, like always so I let him stay and he went right to sleep. At 6 the other dogs wanted out and breakfast. Boomer joined us after they were done eating and went outside and peed again. I tried some Natural Balance log and he ate that no problem. I even got an antibiotic into him. He is now laying in the kitchen crate watching out the back door to be sure his yard is okay. He still hasn't had any water but I am not too worried as he has peed twice and I know he had an IV yesterday. At what point do I worry?
I took today off which after last night was a good idea. I am hoping for a nap later today.
