Does anyone here have one the relatively new Tivo HD boxes. I have read some reports that they are not as good as the original non-HD units, and hoping to find out more

*sigh*

don't work in Canada because you need CableCARDS
Don't have one yet, I am planning on upgrading everything soon(TV, TIVO, Speakers)

Go to this web site, everything you can ever want and more about TIVO can be found here

Awww man. I saw tivo HD and thought someone put a tivo on their Harley! I could ride and watch a movie at the same time? :educated:
I'm sighing with Kelli.

I wish we had Tivo HD.

My husband reads that board Hunter posted. Lots of great info there.
We have a DirecTV HD DVR and it is fantastic. Not the Tivo brand, though we do have an SD Tivo with lifetime service, too. What are you wondering about specifically? We don't have any picture quality issues and I try to record everything in HD when it's available.

I had read a few places where people were saying the Tivo HD are crapping out after a year or so. I need something, either TivoHD or a Dishnetwork HD Dvr, the Tivo is cheaper if I amortize it out over a few years.

FWIW-People were saying the same thing about Tivo's when we got ours. We've never had any problems with it.

I heart our Tivo, even if it doesn't record in HD. We still use it on our non-HD tv. It has some wonderful features that other DVR's do not have.
