I hope this is right place to ask. I couldn't decide if I should be in nutrition section.
I sent an email to a couple of people (one is a vet) who wrote articles about chemicals in foods and got some responses.
One said she had great success with something called THUJA.
Has anyone ever used it - or heard of it?
Thanks

Thuja occidentalis is a homeopathic remedy that can work on the skin. Homeopathic remedies such as thuja are not typically prescribed like allopathic medicine is. Homeopathy is based on the principle of treating like with like so thuja would only work if the constitution of your dog matches that of thuja.
Looking at the constitution, I wouldn't doubt that it would work in some cases. I would also look at Baryita Carbonica and Lapis Alba. I imagine I would give Thuja 1M daily or the others 3c 3 times a day for 3 to 4 weeks although dosing can be tricky with homeopathy and I am hardly a homeopath. Go to ABC homeopathy and choose which one suits your dog's symptoms best and cross your fingers.

thanks for the response. I've been a member here since 2001 but every time I build up post #s they change the forum and I drop back to 0 and nobody knows me.
I'm at my wits end with Buddy's lipomas and skin warts. I am now in touch with a holistic vet and she is working up something for me to try. Nothing works. In the past, he's had some removed due to comfort and size of them but they grow back in multiples.
I'm waiting to hear back f rom her. Again, thanks for the response.

I would think that this is related to vaccine and chemical use. I would put her on a liver detox and I would want a classical homeopath to go over her history and treat her starting where it all began: likely with vaccinations. Vaccines are very adept at causing tumors as well as destroying the liver, so I would be treating the vaccine damage to slow the growth of lipomas.
Having said that, they are completely benign and I would never remove one unless it was in a place that it inhibited function of a limb. The drugs from the anesthesia will just damage the liver more and he will develop even more lipomas.
Dont' worry, I know you Pam :p

Hello!!!
I contacted an herbalist and she is studying his history and will make some suggestions.
If I hadn't removed his first one many years ago, we would not have discovered the tied off testicle his original vet tied off and 'forgot' It had grown a real tumor but thankfully it was benign.
The other two times, the lipomas were in uncomfortable places. One was under his front shoulder where the leg met the body.
He has another one like a cow udder now and a wart on his upper eyelid. He's 11 now and I dread having anything else done to him.
Thanks for your response.
