I'm listening live on NJ101.5. Over 2,500 National Guard troops came home from Iraq today and there's a parade & rally / reunion right now at the Sovereign Bank Arena. They're interviewing family and friends. I'm a mess in tears listening to this and SO PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!!! It's the return of New Jersey's largest citizen deployment to a combat zone since World War II.

The link if you want to listen, just click on "listen live".

Oh, they haven't been reunited with their loved ones yet, about another hour or so. That's the part I'm waiting for! :)

Not quite, Amy- they started coming home Memorial Day. I think the last of them are arriving today. ;) We wanted to go down to the parade and ceremonies, but the timing was bad. We're having a bunch of family over tomorrow (Kole's last weekend home), and have a lot of stuff to do. :( I wanted to go so badly. I listened to a couple of minutes of it when I left work, but had to change the station. Somehow, I just don't think it's a good idea to drive Point Mountain when I'm balling my eyes out.

Me, too. I'm extremely proud of our service men and women, too.
