Went to see the doc again this morning. He's not happy that the swelling isn't going away. The bruising is to be expected because all the blood has to go somewhere, so it's going with the fluid into my lower leg and foot. He said that sitting at a desk, even with the foot propped on a box, is not good as it still allows the fluid to flow down and pool. They did an ultrasound to measure the blood flow and make sure there are no blood clots - that hurt like a summabitch! Pressing hard on bruised, swollen flesh is not a good thing. No clots, though, thank God.
Anyway, doc says I have to keep it elevated (preferably above my heart), so I have to stay off work for a week and then go back so he can check it again. He said if the LCL is torn, they most likely would not do anything for it, but let it heal on it's own. Since I can bear weight on and straighten and slightly flex the knee, he's sure there is no damage inside the joint. Thank You, God! So, I be home for the next week.
