I just wanted to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart, for your condolences and kind words about Mocha. I know we all share the same devotion to our beautiful labs, and knowing there are so many of you who understand what it is like to say goodbye ...... well, it's pretty meaningful.

On Saturday Bodie and I started out on a hike up the hill from my house. No sooner had we got to the path, when a big butterfly started fluttering around us and stayed with us for quite a distance. Today, it has been hovering around the dooryard all day. Could it be ........ I don't know, but I swear, it brought a smile a mile wide to my face!

Good wishes to all of you, and thanks again. Dawn

Awww...yes indeed it could be  Love that story Dawn.

Mocha was the grand old lady of the forum, like Boomer was before her. I know we all felt very attached to her and she will be missed. I do like to visualize them up there butt tucking all over, pain free, with an unlimited supply of marrow bones and sucky balls :)
I hope all are doing ok.

If thats the feeling you got then YES! Good to know the sweet girls is still "walking" with you isnt it?
YES! ;D Until we found Buddy, I kept seeing cardinals everywhere. In the two plus years since we moved here, I hadn't seen a one until we lost our Shadow. Now I think she is here, helping Buddy adjust.

Dawn:

The last day we spent with our Sammy before he died we all sat on our back porch and he seemed to be surrounded by butterflies

After his death it seemed there were always butterflies to be found - in those darkest of moments when I most needed to be reminded of the love we shared

It was as if, on that final day he found the vehicle he would use to come back to me

Mocha seems to have found hers too

And you know - she never really left you - simply gone from your line of vision she will live forever and for always in your heart

Dawn, I have been gone all weekend. I didn't know of Mocha's passing until I read this thread. I am so sorry for your loss. I, too, believe.

Dawn I am so sorry for your loss. Mocha was such a lucky dog to have spent her long life with you! I have no doubt that butterfly was your girl, letting you know she has her angel wings now and is waiting for you.
