I have one more payment on my Jeep and my lease is up, so I'm car shopping. No more leasing for me, I'm buying this time. Buying to keep until I run it into the ground!! I can't believe I've thrown so much money away leasing my last 3 vehicles.

OK, so my dilemma. I went over the weekend and almost bought a used Honda CRV because it was only $16,000. The dealer was going to charge me 13.9% interest!!!!!!!!&[email protected]%#*%^[email protected]* Screw that!!!!!

I just got a "pre-approved auto loan" in the mail from my credit union for up to $25,000 at 7.99%. It's a check that I just have to write out to the dealer for whatever amount. I called them to make sure it wasn't some scam, and they verified it's guaranteed for me at 7.99% and all I have to do is write out the check. I have up to 90 days to make the first payment, plus I get to pick the due date! :D

Now...what do I want?! I'm thinking a new RAV4 or CRV....

Amy, you won your own home don't you?
How about an equity loan? That way the interest is deductible.
We do, and already have a small equity loan. I like the convenience of this though, plus it will come right out of my check so I don't have to worry about it. I probably won't even notice a big difference in take-home pay, since the 2 boys will be coming off of my insurance now that they've graduated college. OK maybe a little.....

7.99 is a good interest rate?
In NJ for a car it is. For me anyway.....

It's a bit higher than average, but my credit isn't the greatest when it comes to car payments. I missed one payment not knowing, and it screwed everything up (I was a month behind for months).

Riley said it's time for me to get a new car because mine is very out-dated and old looking.

I can't to click 'send' on my last Jeep payment.
Me, too!! I thought I had 2 payments but it turns out I only have 1. My husband drove it to the dealer the other day and said it was like driving a tin can. :nerd:

Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! Check out the four door Wrangler.
I have a Jeep! Jeep! Jeep! And I no Like! Like! Like! I have the Wrangler Unlmtd edition, the last 2 door they made in the real "Jeep" body style. I don't like the 4 doors at all, they don't look like a Jeep to me.

Besides, I'm tired of being in the Jeep Club. Everytime you pass a Jeep you get a wave or a peace sign.
