Really - the climbing roses on my fireplace chimney are in full bloom and the fragrance in my living room is intoxicating.

When we were in Michigan this past weekend the scent of the blooming lilacs was amazing!! Walking down my parents street all you could smell was lilacs. I loved it. Nothing like that is blooming here yet.

The lilacs were so ridiculously early this year in NJ that they were past their prime by late April. Usually they are blooming on mothers day.

I agree - their fragrace is amazing as well. I like to plant flowering shrubs that bloom throughout the season near the house so we get to enjoy the good sniffs as much as possible.
