His groomer has gotten WAY too expensive for just a trim so I tried to shorten his face fur and ears a little bit last night. Um... it's not too bad. At least I can see his eyes now and his ears aren't dragging through the water bowl.
It's clearly going to take a lot of practice, though.
Nance, I used to trim my Cockers. Just get a good set of clippers, use the longest trim guard to start with on the body, then a closer one for his face. As you and he get more comfortable with it, you can trim shorter.
