His groomer has gotten WAY too expensive for just a trim so I tried to shorten his face fur and ears a little bit last night. Um... it's not too bad. At least I can see his eyes now and his ears aren't dragging through the water bowl.

It's clearly going to take a lot of practice, though.

The nice thing about trimming them is they won't complain! I have clippers for Bozzie, he loves it when it's time to cut his hair. He comes and sits by me outside and just lays there. I don't know what he would do for a professional. I get a little better each time, except when I'm in a rush. It will be fine Nance!!! I wonder if groomers are finding the business hard to come by in this economy.

Oohh...judging the trim..this could be the JL version of a reality show! lol. I'm sure it turned out well. But, yes, we do need pics!

When I was growing up, we had a Cocker Spaniel. My granny (he was really her dog!) kept him trimmed and groomed. There isn't a groomer anywhere could have done a better job. And before ya know it, it'll bethe same for you!

Nance, I used to trim my Cockers. Just get a good set of clippers, use the longest trim guard to start with on the body, then a closer one for his face. As you and he get more comfortable with it, you can trim shorter.
