The boy is really swimming well, but... I have to gently set him in the water or he SINKS. He's tried twice to get in the pool by himself and he just sinks to the bottom. He comes up sputtering and isn't panicked... so I guess he'll eventually learn not to sink to the bottom :

I found out the hard way pugs sink too.. (I was right there, and rescued poor Phoebe when I was boarding her ... so much for trying to cool her off with a swim in the lake too on a hot summer day...
