"This Club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the official AKC entry form for this event." What the heck does that mean? I've gotten a couple of premiums since the CLE last month, but don't remember seeing that on any of them, until today.

Well, it basically means just what it says. Should someone make a claim against the show, the hosting club will not arbitrate it. AKC will.

We had a dog bite incident at one of our trials. Our trial committee handled the claim and banned the dog from further AKC trials. If we had posted the statement that is posted above, we would not have arbitrated that claim, the person who made the complaint about the biting dog would have done so to the AKC rep, and they would have handled it.

Gotta love legaleze. It has to be written in a way that no one can understand it.
