106A8921-6BDB-4B42-BF4F-424AB26D3F8F.jpg Hello! We have a new 9 week old chocolate lab. We got him at 7 weeks and within a few days he was pretty sick. After a vet visit, we learned he was eaten up with worms. He was on medicine for several days and weight picked up. Then we had another setback and back to the vet we went. He now seems to be in the mend, but seems very small (currently 8 lbs 2 oz) - though gaining and shape appears healthy. He was 4 pounds 2 oz when we got him. Should we be concerned?

I'm by no means an expert, but that seems pretty light to me, but with all his previous issues resolved maybe he will catch up. My girl was 11.5 lb at 6 weeks, middle of 9 pups. When I picked her up at 8 weeks she was 15.5 lb. From my readings they gain about 2 lbs a week, but that is from the internet, but my girl did and has gaining 2 lbs a week since.

Good luck with him.
