Daisy hiccups A LOT. She had done so since I got her a week ago, tomorrow. I'd say she has the hiccups at least 8 times a day, lasting for 30 sec. to 2 min. She was at the vet today, I told him, he told me not to worry, she would grow out of it, and if she doesn't, try a food switch (she eats 3 cups of Innova LB puppy, currently.) I'm not too worried, as she acts fine, and checked out healthy, but I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this? Any idea if it would constitute a food change?
Thanks!
Yes, hiccups are completely normal for puppies that are growing. Mostly it is because the sternum is growing faster or at different rates than the muscles and nerves in that area, and/or the puppy is taking in air with their food and water.
