I needed to get my Honda's oil changed, lubed, and its fuel injectors cleaned. Tried to get it done at a nearby WallyWorld yesterday afternoon but they were shorthanded and said come back around 9 this morning. So I did, with Puff, the morning paper plus a magazine to while the time.

They said it'd be about 1 1/2 hours until it was finished so Puff and I drove to another WalMart 4 miles away. We were lucky, they were free to work on it right away.

At the first WM, its waiting room is an appendix off the main path between the exit/entrance door and the cash register; the "waiting room" at the second one is just a short hallway that leads between the cash register and the outside door lined with 6 chairs on one side, so everyone entering or leaving had to pass right by Puff. (She had her leash on with my end clipped to my chair.)

Labrador heaven! :D

Most people (including some employees several times) stopped to pet her as they passed and many welcomed a Labrador kiss on their faces.

It only took about 30-45 minutes but I think Puff would've been happy if we'd stayed there 2 hours or more.

You are so lucky to be able able to take Puff wth you to so many places. I am sure she was in labby heaven. Pennsylvania is still not dog friendly & I doubt we would be allowed to take our labs with us.

I wonder if labs are allowed in our WallyWorld? Hm. I guess we know what Puff can do once she's ready for a career---Walmart Greeter!
She's the perfect example of a lab, ever ready to give someone a smooch!

I don't ever try taking Puff with me into the main part of the WM store but, at the lube & tire service area, they won't work on the car with her still inside so I put her on a leash and we stay in their tire & lube waiting area.

We DO go into Lowe's (giant home improvement store, like Home Depot) fairly often BUT I always have her ride in a cart after I put a blanket in the bottom to make it easier on her paws. If she was walking on a leash, she wouldn't be as controllable (sniffing butts, etc.).

I used to take Shadow with me when we went to have the oil changed at the dealership. They loved her there and she got lots of attention from everyone. The manager used to come back and trade stories with me, he had a couple of Goldens. The boys, however, don't like riding in the car and don't behave well in public places like that. Maybe Buddy would, alone, but he still doesn't care for riding in the car so he is not a happy camper going anywhere other than the park.
