I planned and pulled off a surprise party for my husband's 40th, including flying his two sisters into town and meeting them for a surprise brunch - which was great since he thought that was the sum total of the birthday surprise and so completely didn't see the evening party coming. It was really fun.
Of course I've made him promise not to throw a surprise party for me for my 40th in a few months...
