I have heard from him! I won't get to hear from him much because they are building a new base so no phones/internet for up to 3 months. He's doing good and sounded good though! His first concern was me and then immediately he said "Well hows my pup doing without me?" So I thought I'd humor him with a letter from jake, not sure you guys will find it humorous but here it is!
"Hi dad! I miss you and wish you were here to play with me more. When you get home you better throw the ball for me alot! After all when you get home I will be a grown man with no balls of my own. I wish you were here to see me swim for the first time but mom will take lots of pictures I am sure. She always has that **** flash in my face. But don't worry dad I am the only man that sleeps with her everynight and we sure miss you a lot. I ruff you!!

I think some Marine is going to be very, very happy!!
Haha thanks I sure hope to bring a little smile to him while he's so far away.I want to cry all the time because Jake runs up to everyone in cammies thinking its his dad and then realizes its not! But he still circles the house looking for him. I recorded it to send to my hubby too.
