I posted in Health and Nutrition with no reponses so I will try here. Does anyone know of an online supplier for meds that is in Canada or will ship there? I am looking for a cheaper source than my vet.

Drs Fosters and Smith

Still need a presctiption from my vet, but they are much cheaper than the vet. For example one of my Labs is on Previcox(Anti-Inflamatory for arthritis) $3 a pill from the vet, $1 a pill from Fosters and Smith. Pretty sure they ship to Canada, but you can check to make sure.

For flea and tick/ Heartworm do a search on this forum for Frontline Plus, lot of good threads on where to buy this product.

Did look into this one, but they were more expensive than Fosters, might be due to shipping.

Not sure about shipping to Canada - but I order my fish oil caps from KV Vet - I've found they have the best prices and offer free shipping on most items. http://www.kvvet.com

ETA: It looks like they do ship to Canada, but not for free.

A best source of info is someone in Canada.

You might contact these sources which I've been pleased with, both in service and prices; they can tell you if they do and what the prices in $$Can. currently are:

http://www.kvvet.com

http://www.petshed.com

http://www.discountpetsdrugs.com

For meds I usually use Pet Shed because they've consistently been cheapest. Drs. Foster & Smith are usually much higher. But Pet Shed doesn't carry some things (like "Musher's Secret") and KV offers it at a great price.

For some meds (heartworm, e.g.) you'll need a prescription from a vet before they'll sell and ship. I don't know what the regulations are in your province. In the USA, in some states, vets can legally refuse to give a prescription, in some other states they must give one if requested (providing they prescribed that med for your pet).

Frontline doesn't require a prescription so that can be ordered w/o hassle.

You don't need a prescription to order hearworm meds from petshed.com. I've been getting mine from there with no problems.
