30 years or so as a riding school pony and then she retired as a companion horse for Roulette our blind pony.

It started with an infection in her jaw a few weeks ago that she recovered from but then this week she started going off her food and finally was having difficulty breathing - panting - and the vets didn't rate her chances of a recovery.

I'm so sorry. How is Roulette dealing with it?

We don't know is the simple answer ! In my opinion she has settled down and has learned to live with her disability ! I don't think she will fret too much but W is of a different opinion.

When she first went blind she broke through a few fences when we took the other horses out but recently she calls out to them but no longer charges around and W puts it down to Pepper being there ! I'm not so sure.

Blind Roulette might be but she still managed to find Pepper's food bowl in a 1/4 acre field and chase Pepper off !

I think that W suspects that she may pine for somebody to boss around !

She might be right !
