Select Digital Photo Professional 3.0 Updater for Windows from the list, and the link to download the software (DPP30UPD_EN.exe) is located at the bottom of the page...
Ok, I did my best at this, but I don't think I have an eye for deciding what looks best. I changed and changed things! When I compared to the original they did look better, but how much????
I used the Canon Digital Photo Professional then resized them with Windows My Pictures. I sometimes use paint shop pro to resize, but was in a hurry today and can do all at once from the album in My Pictures. I didn't think to watch the time. I saved each one separately. What do they mean by batch processing?
Jim, would it be possible to post the uncorrected pics in the original post. I would like to compare them to the ones that people post. I downloaded them to my other computer. I'm not networked to view them on this computer. It would be a help to have them right in this thread for comparison.
Here goes. Converted with Digital Photo Professional (First time to even open the program :-[ ). Cropped and Resized with PSP 10. Total time spent: 35 minutes.
OK, I finally had time to work on these. I used PhotoShopElements 5.0. It wasn't bad doing this in PSE. I couldn't get to the main computer to use DPP. SU was working on that computer. I did the conversion in about 25 minutes. I could have done it a lot faster, but I was playing around with different settings. I was totally finished with resizing and saving in about 40 minutes. Is this all the editing that you do to your pictures? After you get them converted and into an editing program, are you supposed to do regular editing just as if it had been shot in JPEG? Do you do the editing to the CR2 file, then save it as a JPEG, or do you edit it after you save it as a JPEG?

For now, I make most of my adjustments to the RAW images with Canon DPP before converting them to JPEGs. Then I use Photoshop CS for cropping and retouching images.
I'm thinking about buying Adobe Lightroom because I can get everything done with the same program. It's fairly easy to use and I love how it manages and organizes photos. I think I'm also gonna tryout Adobe PS Elements to see if I like it better.
So, did I do a good job with the conversions? The last time I tried this it was a disaster, and this was so easy.
