Our pups are just a tad over 6 months old now (got them at 10 weeks old in January). Our male (Hans - he's the one that's redish in color) is about 53lbs! Lady is about 47lbs. Here's some photos taken last month of them playing with our son in the back yard:

Thanks for the kind words. As to your question - you tell me! We somewhat "lucked out" with his coloring - it wasn't something we purposely searched for. I sort of thought labs came in three basic colors (yellow, chocolate, and black). Our yellow lab Lady certainly is a pretty dog, but EVERYONE who sees Hans thinks he an absolutely beautiful dog. I haven't really seen any other labs his color and don't know much about this particular color variation.
