"Gone Baby Gone"

I've watched the first half. And will watch the second because I never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever leave a movie unfinished.

But what an effort. I hate the acting. Think the storyline is unnecessarily complex. And those Brahd BAHSTON accents are driving me insane.

I hate this movie.

...15...14...13...12...

I'm counting down the seconds 'til Laurie logs in and says she adores it,

...11...10...09...

Ben Affleck has directed it. And cast his baby-bro Casey as the lead. It's based on a book. Morgan Freeman and Amy Madigan are in the supporting cast.

And the screenplay is a lot of this:

Smurf you. Yeah, well smurf you! You're a smurfing smurf. YEAH?! YEAH!! Well, let's solve this smurfing case. SMURF! Hey, a smurfing clue. Well, smurf-me!

It definitely is one that you HAVE to see the VERY end ... otherwise, it's useless......DEFINITELY watch it til the end.

One I watched this weekend and LOVED was Changeling. It's based on a true story.

I really enjoyed Gone Baby Gone.

And I want to see the Changeling.

Totally not a movie- but there is a story about a boy named Bobby Dunbar that seems a bit similar to the story that the Changeling is based on. I heard it on "This American Life"

I just wiki'd this and read a bunch of the footnoted materials. The one in the Oakland Tribune was the most concise. Really interesting story with a DNA result 90 years after it happened. Worth taking a look at if this kind of story appeals to you.

I really liked Gone Baby Gone.

Just watched Changeling tonight, and really liked it too. What is SO creepy is that the "chicken ranch" is close to my house, I drive on a street called Wineville every day on my way to work - it's the only thing left named Wineville after they changed the town's name to disassociate with Northcott.

I will go to the movies to see the new Nicholas Cage movie March 20. This will be two trips to the cinema this decade. Good God I've gone mad.

OMG! That would be creepy. That part of the story has really stuck to me, its so disturbing and sad thinking about it... (trying not to give any spoilers!)
