I was just reading a similar story on MSNBC, although that one didn't say which brands. Gee whiz, we give the dogs the Purina ONE or Pro Plan biscuits and I can't help but wonder how long it is until those are affected as well... ::)

It's actually a lot of grocery store brands: From my vet:

Sunshine Mills Inc is recalling dog biscuits made with imported Chinese wheat gluten which contains melamine.

Many of it's biscuits are made under private labels sold by grocery stores, mass merchant, dollar stores, web sites, and Wall Mart Stores.

This recall also covers a portion under Slater Bros, Nurture, Lassie and Pet Life dog brand biscuits.

Dr. Travis recommends that we all look at the ingredients
in any food, treats, or biscuits that we may feed our pet.

Please notify any neighbor or friend that has a dog.

Oh wow...I didn't know that about Ol Roy but what's up with that since they have no wheat gluten in them? I thought that ingredient was the culprit in the food.

I use the Ol'Roy puppy biscuits and they are on the list. I put them in a container, so don't know if I've had the tainted ones or not. Both dogs seem fine, but it still is a worry. I threw them out and tonight gave them cheese nip crackers as a treat. This is getting ridiculous.

I know its a pain in the butt but you should save any samples that you have, just make sure to put them away safe and mark them do not eat!! if you are absolutely paranoid you can have a bloodwork done and a urine test done.
