Those who saw my other post, will know where this is heading.
Get you up to speed, Nala slowed stopped eating and bowel movements. Thought she had blockage from eating dog bed. Xrays were ok, expect for swelling of kidneys.
Vet just called and her kidneys are at about 20 percent. So her blood is taking in a lot of toxins.
From what I gather from vet is, After all test (and a lot of them) and meds (if infection can be stopped or slowed) her quality of life will not be good or near the same. She is already getting lethargic. I am balling as I type this.
Not sure of her time line, don't think its long. I think I know the answer but is it fair to Nala to pursue this. Vet said there is no recovery for her kidneys the best is they will stay at the 20 percent they are at.
Just stinks (have other words for it) she was fine just last week, Had some symptoms of being "off", but man... Vet said this can come out of no where.
I am so sorry to hear this. I know you will make the right decision for Nala. We all support whatever your decision is. It's hard. Sending prayers your way.
I am so sorry you have to negotiate through this and figure out the right answer. I am sure that whatever answer you resolve, it will be the right one for you and Nala.
Thank you all very much. We are have a very hard time realizing what is happening. And how to go about this, But I do not want to band-aid this, I do know that. And talking to the vet that is the best case scenario.
Anyone that has lost a dear friend, I think Nala has given me that answer her self. But no one can stop thinking "what if".
Oh crud I am so sorry for you all! Same thing happened with our Eskie- in my avatar- within days, she let me know it was time. So very fast and so very sad
I'm so sorry to read this post. My thoughts will be with you and Nala. This is pretty much what happened with Zeke last March so I feel your pain. My husband and I decided that we would let him tell us when he was ready and he did. We couldn't bear to let him go, but we knew that there was point where not doing so would be selfish on our part. Again, my thoughts will be with you and Nala in this difficult time.
