Nick ... your thread yesterday about Congress spending Trillions of dollars prompted me to do some research and sit down at the calculator. I learned that:

A $100 bill measures 6.14" long X 2.61" wide X .0043" thick

It takes 490 $100 bills to weigh 1 pound

There are 10,319 $100 bills ($1,031,920) stretched end to end in 1 mile

$1 million dollars in $100 bills stretched end to end is 97/100ths of a mile long

$1 million dollars in $100 bills weighs 20.41 lbs.

$1 BILLION dollars in $100 bills stretched end to end is 969 miles long

$1 BILLION dollars in $100 bills would weigh 20,410 lbs

$1 TRILLION dollars in $100 bills stretched end to end is 96,906,566 miles long

$1 TRILLION dollars in $100 bills would weigh 20,410,000 lbs and it would fill 510 eighteen wheel truckloads

$1 TRILLION dollars in $100 bills stretched end to end would go around the Earth at the equator 8.2 times!
(The Earth's circumference is 24,892 miles at the equator)

Keep in mind that the current programs President Obama has signed or is pushing now total 4 plus Trillions.

4 TRILLION dollars in $100 bills stretched end to end is 3,876,162,626 miles long and weighs 81,632.653 lbs. It would require 2,041 eighteen wheel trucks, each carrying 40,000 lbs, to carry all of the money

Even my ex-wife couldn't spend a trillion.

;)

The thread was actually about how much the markets around the world have lost, but it's nice to know if someone hands me a suitcase with 20.41 pounds of $100 bills in it that I should be pretty careful.
