I thought that the winds the past couple of weeks packed a bunch of crud into one of our landscaping trees until I got a better look on Sunday. It looks like this little girl (a hummingbird) took a bunch of cottonwood fluff to make her nest...and NOW there's an egg! It has been built right next to where my SU parks his car (about 3 ft away from his driver's door), and while his car is very quiet, I worry that she will get startled by a door shutting or whatnot and abandon ship ...

I just love hummingbirds. My SU and I actually had a clear glass wedding cake topper that featured 2 hummingbirds and dogwood flowers.

WOW !! You even got a pic of her ON the nest ! How cool !!! Yeah, tell SU to park elsewhere ! You will have to watch that egg and see when it hatches. Can you imagine how tiny a baby hummingbird is ?
