Well, about a 12" square total out of a bath towel. ::)

They've been so good, and we've been leaving them out of their crates during the day. I left a towel on the couch by mistake and when I came home at lunch, there was a huge piece missing. Neither had chewed on anything for a long time.

We think Katie is probably the guilty party, although we're watching both of them real close right now. I'm hoping the towel was carefully chewed before it was swallowed and that small pieces will work their way through.

Any experience with a towel-eating Lab? How long does it take before symptoms appear?

Sigh.

Ernie eats everything. Whole tea towels, dish clothes, face clothes, huge holes in sheets, and blankets. they all come out nicely wrapped in poop.

I have to watch him really carefully as he demolishes things in seconds. I tried to find the pic of the blanket he ate a hole in.

Thanks, Chris. We've found little blue pieces already this morning. :D Hopefully they're all small.

I remember the pic of the blanket. Ha! Ernie, Ernie, Ernie!

I've heard a few towel or napkin eating stories from my neighbors. You may want to watch your dogs closely today as both neighbors said they had to help their dogs "pass" the remants. Yes, that's they had to help it out by hand as it was kinda stuck. Good news: both dogs lived long and happy lives and never seemed worse for the wear.

good luck.
