I am starting to digitally scan and need to store a LOT of photos at work (we are talking 30,000 to 40,000 slides eventually. Most are regular slides, but some are glass slides from the 1920's...fascinating stuff). Anyways, what is going to be the best way to store them? I know organization is "personal preferance", and we'll be doing according to Habitat type, species, events and people. External hard drive? (any recommendations?), jump drive? I don't trust CD's esp since my computer can recognize one one day and not the next (10 year old computer is getting a bit cranky some days).

Any suggestions?
