Jack/Juliet/Sayid are marching toward home. Kate and Sayid are still distrustful, but Jack -- the paragon of character assessment (KOFF ~ KOFF!!!) -- vouches for her integrity. Kate, however, would clearly like to knock her shoulder out of alignment again, and Sayid would love an interrogation that involves a sliver of bamboo and her fingernails.

But in deference to Jack, they back off.

At the beach, DBC is ill. Charlie attends to the Onionhead as she goes back to bed.

SHOOHS! We're in Juliet's flashback. Her pregnant cancer-riddled sister sees her off to her assignment, and Juliet vows to return before the baby is born. The 'flight' is rather odd (and not just because it's shared with an all-too-grinny Ethan), as Juliet is required to drink a Mickey Finn before departure.

With good reason. They don't go on a plane at all but, rather, on a sub. Juliet arrives at Craphole Island and meets Benry.

She's there because something terrible keeps happening to the pregnant women of Dharma. And it's up to her to figure it out. Oh, and that six month deal? It's off. We're now on a three-year tour... a three-year tour!

Back with the Lostians, there's a touching reunion as Kate/Jack/Sayid return, although Sawyer and Hurley aren't exactly jumping for joy at seeing Juliet. Claire, however, begins gushing blood and collapses. Jack flies immediately into Dr Superman mode.

SHOOSH! Juliet tells Ben that her work has been for naught. She can't keep the pregnant women from dying, so she may as well go home. Ben says no -- she's got to stay or they'll allow her sister to die of cancer, taking the in-utero baby with her. She agrees to stay, but she's pouty about it. Ben says something about the island being a haven for those with cancer, but he won't allow Rachel to come... And Juliet can't leave. Screwage all 'round. IF, however, she'll stay and continue to work, Ben will ensure that Rachel not only survives but delivers her baby. She bitterly calls him a liar. 'Sides, all the pregnant women have died and there's nobody left to act as a control for the tests.

Back in real-time, Juliet 'fesses up to having abducted Claire and injecting her -- and that's what's making her sick. If the Lostians will trust her, she can go get Ethan's bag, get more serum, and cure Claire. Her trust is about -0 right now, but Jack stands up for her again and allows her to go.

Sayid and Sawyer wisely follow. But she's good to her word; she arrives at the spot in the jungle and gets a suitcase of med supplies. She also doles out a verbal smackdown of the pot-kettle variety to both her escorts and storms back to camp.

Flashback: Juliet gets some disturbing x-rays about Ben. He's got cancer. On what was presumed to be the cancer Shangri-La. She goes to tell him, and he's visibly upset but still won't let her go. To counter the accusation of being a liar, he arrives at Mikhail's outpost ("Don't shoot us!") and shows her, via satellite, that Rachel is, indeed, okay and has given birth to a strapping boy, Julian. Meanwhile, Flight 815 flies overhead, interrupts the Carrie book club edition, and leads Ben to send Goodwin and Ethan off to their respective roles. More and more Lost pieces are clicking together.

Back on the beach, Claire is revived, thanks to Juliet, and her stock begins to rise.

One more flash -- Juliet and Ben are planning the gassing and abduction/handcuffing of Kate. The medicine was a plant, as was the stage-show of saving Claire. Ben and Juliet agree to meet in a week.

Considering her interest in pregnant women, I wonder how long it will be before someone blurts out that Sun is pregnant?

What did you think of it Dan?

I liked that it filled in some missing pieces. I'm not surprised that Juliet IS a plant.

I just KNEW she was a plant. They were starting to make me question it with the whole Claire thing, but the whole thing was fishy from the get-go last week. Here's what I said in last week's recap:

So, are the Others setting them up by leaving Juliet behind? The whole 'if you thought we were in it together maybe I wouldn't get left behind again.' Not buying it. She knew Jack and Sayid were still in "town". Why wouldn't she have just stayed back/gone back with Jack?
I don't know why Kate didn't question that - about why Juliet just didn't stay back with Jack.

Oh, and I thought it was an excellent episode! But now that we know for sure that Juliet is a mole, I'm wondering how many of the "answers" we got were actually true.

One of the best of the season. Jack spoke for all of us when he said: I can keep them off your back for a little, but eventually, they're all going to want answers.

EXCELLENT performances as always from Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet) and Benry and even Creepazoid Ethan (who, we have to assume, went off the deep end, no? I'm thinking he lost a wife to a pregnancy. Maybe Benry did, too??).

I thought it was a great episode. I was sure juliet was a plant. I think Sayid will figure it out. i noticed that it said "Season Finale" not "Series Finale" so that made me feel good.

Didn't Danielle arrive on the island already pregnant and gave birth there?

I think Claire would have been fine without their intervention and so will Sun. Both came to the island pregnant. As did Danielle. The island just hates people having sex on it. ;) That's why we lost Shannon. And Ana Lucia. And Libby might have been on her way to sex with Hurley. Poor Kate better watch out! :p

Good ep. Even hubby really liked it - and he's often fed up with it.

The Sawyer/Kate reunion!!! The way he was looking at her! I said out loud - GRAB HER!!! Oh that man is sooooooooo sexy!!!

I.Hate.Jack. "She's under my protection." Huh? Pfft!

They planted a chip in Claire which they activiated? It sure explains the "perfect timing" of Juliette's arriving just in time. But...what if the implanted chip is just a story Ben told Juliette. Like the chip they claimed they put in Sawyer which would kill him if he got excited? Maybe Benry is lying to Juliette as well. Oh wait! "I don't lie, Juliette." Well then! That settles that. (I know this opens up a load of questions as to what made Claire sick then, but the "chip" thingy is too reminescent(sp) of the Sawyer plant.

you know I want Juliet to be a good person but it just doesn't happen.
Does anyone remember her back story about her husband getting run over. She just can't stand up for herself or anyone else even though she knows what is right or wrong. To me Benry is just using her as his pawn and she rolls over and says okay. Grrrrr...I can't stand when people do that.
I am glad somone brought up Danielle cause if I remember right she did give birth on the island and she is healthy. I wish they would do some backstories on Dainell.

Rousseau was 7 months pregnant when she came to the island.

Benry was born on the island -- meaning his mother either arrived there pregnant or got pregnant while there. I'm thinking the latter, which is what's driving all this with Juliet!

I thought Sun got pregnant on the island. Gee maybe Benry was the last Dharma person born on the island. Maybe the island figured it didn't want to take any chances of getting anymore Benrys. So, it's killing all the pregnant women.
I loved this episode. I don't think they made the plane crash. They seemed unaware of it, until it was happening. I'm not so sure we learned all that much last night except I guess we know why they want the children.
