I don't get it.

I went to see Gran Torino the other night and in the row in front of me was a family with their 2 year old and a 6 year old. What the heck are people thinking bringing very little kids to movies filled with violence and profanity? They were not the only ones with little kids in the theatre.

If they could not get a babysitter they should pick a more appropriate movie to see with the family, doncha think?

I wonder the same thing. When dh and I went to see 8 Mile years ago, there were little kids in the 10pm showing!! People are idiots.

I had a friend who was one of those people. She said that her little boy didn't understand what was going on so it didn't bother him. My suggestion that his lack of understanding only made it worse didn't convince her.

Of course, she was basically an idiot in lots of other ways, too.

I know what you mean...it's ridiculous. I went to go see Role Models and there were kids there...that movie is full of swearing, nudity, etc. But Gran Torino...that's brutal.

I saw little kids (we're talking around four years old) at Martin Scorcese's last movie, and at the most recent Harry Potter film, which had a lot of disturbing images. I don't know what the hell some people are thinking.

When Jason and I went to see the last Bourne movie, it let out at 11-something. Standing in the lobby with their parents were two small children, under 10.... who had just gotten out of Rob Zombie's Halloween! :surprise:

A few years ago I saw kids (that looked to be) about 10 at a Motley Crue concert with their parents. Now you know **** well that the parents aren't Crue fans, because if they were, there is no way in hell they'd be taking their 10 year olds. When they brought out the girl-on-girl porn on the big screens at one song intro, I thought of the parents and their poor kids. What do they even do at that point? Run?

That's ridiculous. I would never allow my kids to see R films, heck, some of the PG13s are out of control. I can remember trying to convince my mom when I was 13 that I should be allowed to go see one of the horror movies back then, and she just laughed and laughed.

We need a parenting license test I think.
