One of my 3rd graders was sharing her a piece of her writing with the rest of the class today. It was a response to a book called Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. She wrote a letter to Alexander, detailing a horrible, very bad day of her own.

In a booming voice, she told a story of a mis-behaving kitten named Molly she has in her home. She concluded the story by saying.

"So Alexander, if Molly misbehaves again, I'm gonna beat her like a red-headed step-child.

It was truly hysterical.

ps-I will never allow another child to read their writing aloud without pre-reading first. Rookie mistake. ;)

What an excellent story to keep in your memory! lol I love it.
My daughter read that book when she was young and had to write her own version of the same. Funny!
