So the destination wedding has finally arrived! :clap2: I leave tomorrow morning for Cancun... wedding is on Friday, my 30th birthday is Saturday!

I have some hopes for this trip... and unfortunately some responsibilities while we are there. My advanced accounting exam will be next week thursday (the morning after I get back from Cancun) so I'll need to study while I'm there.

My hopes stem from the fact that Mike is coming with me. His "ex" will be on the trip for the first 4 days (we are staying for 6)... and I hope he's able to relax and have fun (though I have my doubts... he is a great guy but he's lacking in some coping skills)

I keep thinking about the fact that it will be beautiful... and romantic... and I hope I get a taste of that while I'm there and have this vacation be a little more than just fun with friends.

So cross your fingers... I'll be sure to take plenty of photos and post them when I get back.

(BTW... for those of you wondering... Jack will be spending the time with my mom, step-dad, lil bro Tom and Apollo the family black lab. I'm sure he'll have a great time.)

We went to Cancun for our 20th Wedding anniversary and LOVED it. Gorgeous beaches. Quiet resort. WARM and sunny. Beautiful sea.

I just remembered...the last time we went there, we stayed at The Sun Palace and there were huge pot plants being grown across the street, which is their "water sports" area. LOL!!

Marilka and I know Jenna and Mike through knit club (Jenna would bring Mike to knitclub). Since their relationship ended... Mike has been attending a lot of things (Marilka's birthday party and New Years party) as Marilka & my friend.

Jenna used to do photography and has some decent equipment... since she wanted to go to the wedding anyways, Marilka and David are helping her pay for it in exchange for her being their photographer.

I'd amend this as Don't leave your resort area dumbly.

In other words, be intelligently aware if you decide to go off-property.

We left our resort a handful of times (shopping, Mass) and had no issues at all. Even after dark.

Yes. And it was really cool. The "church" was open-air. Like in a plaza with no roof, but these columns into the sky and silk banners hanging from them for shade. And we sat on donated "conference room" chairs, like those stackable padded seats you see at a CEO's presentation in a hotel conference center -- there was the green section, the gold section, the red section. It was like watching a taping of "Tattletales."
