Yep! Giddy. Pete's surprise birthday party is tomorrow! I've got everything all set with the reservations (including our false reservations for a 1/2 hour after everyone gets there). I've got plans with everyone to come back to the house afterwards. I cannot believe I am gonna pull this off! I still have a ton of housework today and am having trouble keeping focused on work. I'm literally squirming at my desk. 5:30 hurry up!

I got home at 7 last night, had dinner and cleaned the house until 10 for my parents who are going to be there when I get home tonight. I hate being rushed like that.

Yeah, I"m a 9 to 5:30er. Sucks.

I'll do some tonight...especially the floors once the puppies are in bed. I just need to wash EVERYTHING...all the dog beds, blankets covering the couches...getting the dog snot off the windows...and then I can do the kitchen in the morning. People are coming back after the dinner so I should have time.

I just don't want to look too manic and raise Pete's suspicions!

Any time I start to clean the house Riley and I have this exchange:

Riley: Why are you cleaning? Is someone coming over?
Me: No. Can we not just LIVE in a clean house every once in a while?!

so I can see it raising suspicisions. =)

Good god no! But we do have friends coming down for the weekend (part of the super secret plan!) so the cleaning won't be totally out of the ordinary. But...I'll get the "But it is just Jason & Amy...they don't care" speech...when its not...its everybody! As long as I sit with him and watch a movie at some point tonight I think he'll relax and let me do my thing. I can't wait til this is over and then I can say "Now do you know why I cleaned the china hutch and washed all the nick-nacks?"

I don't think I would go that far or you will definitely make him suspicious. Besides, the people are coming for the party, not to inspect the house. Just do the usual, maybe a wee bit more, and relax.
